Today's Reality

Had a discussion yesterday with a person who recently visited our nation's capital for the first time, who expressed feeling safe and appreciative re the security and armed guards patrolling the mall's perimeter. I expressed a different viewpoint and reality of what is taking place during the country's 250th.

"Allow me to say, in conclusion, notwithstanding the dark picture I have this day presented of the state of the nation, I do not despair of this country. There are forces in operation, which must inevitably work the downfall of slavery. I, therefore, leave off where I began, with hope."
